Nagla Ali Hassan

Nagla Ali Hassan, an accomplished visual artist, poet, and fashion designer, has made significant contributions to the world of art through her unique approach to traditional and innovative techniques. Holding the prestigious UAE Golden Visa for creators in culture and art, Nagla's work stands out for its cultural significance and technical mastery. With over 280 international and local exhibitions under her belt, she has left her mark on the art scenes of the UAE, Tunisia, Egypt, and beyond.

One of her most renowned specialties is Japanese Patchwork Art, a distinctive form of art that goes beyond typical patchwork. It involves carving designs on compressed foam with heights ranging from 3 millimeters to 10 centimeters, all covered with fabric - primarily velvet. These intricate designs are made without sewing or glue, a testament to Nagla’s innovative methods and mastery of her craft. The intellectual property rights to this unique art are registered with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, making her the official pioneer of this exceptional technique.

Nagla’s artistic journey is not only marked by her technical skill but also her passion for handmade arts. She excels in a variety of mediums, including embroidery with satin ribbons, leather engraving, and crafting flower tableaux. Her love for the realistic school of art shines through in her works, which capture intricate details and convey depth, often drawing inspiration from international heritage and the beauty of everyday life.

However, Nagla’s dedication to art extends far beyond aesthetic - her true mission is to empower women and marginalized communities through art. She has developed a project aimed at teaching fine arts and handmade crafts to abused and economically disadvantaged women across different countries. By sharing her skills, she enables these women to gain financial independence and, more importantly, improve their mental well-being by immersing themselves in the world of creativity and beauty.

In addition, Nagla works to integrate people of determination (those with disabilities) into society through art. She teaches them how to express their unique perspectives and emotions through artistic mediums, fostering a sense of belonging and helping them discover the healing power of creativity.

In a world that often overlooks the value of art in personal and societal development, Nagla Ali Hassan stands as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that art can transform lives. Her work continues to inspire others, not only through her exhibitions but also through the lasting impact she makes by empowering vulnerable communities to face life’s challenges with creativity and resilience.
