Dubai: The Seeing RED Art Exhibition, organised by Art4you Gallery, hosted from April 12 to 18, 2025 at the beautiful Mehromah Art Gallery in Dubai, was an immersive celebration of contemporary art inspired by one of the most intense and emotionally charged colours - RED. Curated by Jesno Jackson, Founder and Chief Curator of Art4you Gallery, the show featured 45 compelling artworks by 30 diverse artists, each interpreting the colour red through their own lens of creativity, culture, and expression.

Whether it was scarlet, crimson, maroon, vermilion, ruby, rose, or burgundy, red dominated the space, not just visually, but emotionally. The exhibition challenged the viewers to feel, to reflect, and to connect deeply with the emotions that red represents: love, power, danger, anger, energy, and transformation.

The Colour That Speaks: “Red isn’t just a colour – it’s a voice,” said curator Jesno Jackson. “Through this exhibition, I wanted to showcase how red can embody both vulnerability and strength. Artists were encouraged to explore its duality, its beauty, its rage – and they did so with immense depth.” Artworks ranged from bold abstract pieces bursting with vibrant red strokes, to delicate figurative works were red gently highlighted emotion or symbolism.

Diverse Styles, Unified Theme: The exhibition embraced all mediums — from canvas paintings and mixed media to collage and conceptual art — but red remained the unifying force. Every artwork carried its own rhythm and story, yet when viewed together, the collection formed a collective narrative of emotion and intensity. As Matisse famously said, “A thimbleful of red is redder than a bucketful.” That sentiment echoed through the show as artists mastered the use of red in both subtle and explosive ways, each work commanding attention without overwhelming.

There were conversations around symbolism, technique, and the artists' personal connections to red. Many described the experience as “visually rich and emotionally stirring.”

The closing ceremony on April 18 was just as special, featuring a certificate and prize distribution, and a personal art tour by the curator and dignitaries. The week-long event left a lasting impact, not only on those who visited but also on the artists who had a platform to express their truths through red.

Curator’s Reflections & Founder’s Note: Jesno Jackson shared her heartfelt reflections: “Seeing RED was a dream I carried, to create an exhibition where emotion could be seen and felt through a single colour. Red is not just powerful; it’s honest. This show was about allowing artists to be bold, fearless, and real.”

As the founders of Art4you Gallery, their vision continues to amplify meaningful art. Rengi Cherian added: “I’m deeply grateful to the participating artists, our guests, and everyone who stood by this concept. This is what Art4you stands for, connecting stories through art and colour.”
