In a world that celebrates perfection and completion, the idea of revisiting unfinished projects and past failures can feel like opening doors to our most vulnerable moments. Yet, Shatha Almutawa’s upcoming workshop at Kutubna Cultural Center offers a refreshing perspective, inviting participants to see beauty in the incomplete. This workshop is a sanctuary for creatives who are ready to transform abandoned projects, unfulfilled dreams, and lingering regrets into sources of inspiration.

Dr. Shatha Almutawa, an intellectual historian trained at the University of Chicago, will lead the session, blending her background in history and writing to guide participants in reimagining old, unfinished works. Her experience spans teaching writing at universities in the U.S., editing, and writing children’s literature, poetry, and scholarly pieces. Now, she’s channeling her creativity to help others repurpose their unfinished ideas, using methods inspired by collage, pop art, and graphic design.

Through this workshop, participants will take notebooks of past mistakes, forgotten projects, and unrealized concepts and use them as material for creating something entirely new. This approach transforms the “unusable” into potential—breathing new life into fragments of old ideas. Instead of dwelling on why a project failed, participants will explore what new narratives can emerge from it.

Whether you’re a seasoned creative or just beginning, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to view your past work through a different lens. Register on the website http://kutubna.ae to join Shatha Almutawa on this creative journey of embracing and transforming the unfinished into the unexpected. Don’t miss this chance to redefine your creative journey and find beauty in what once felt incomplete.racing and transforming the unfinished into the unexpected.
